Earth is Such a Complicated Game

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

One day, Google (a large conglomerate that is trying to take over the world) was wondering about what it should do within its spare time, especially with its really successful web browser/search engine, and its mapping system of the world around, there was nothing else to do. An idea struck Google when it came across some old school 2D low-graphic games from the vault of the past, and bingo, they came up with PVII.

earthAlright, so it was more one bored person who just thought of this brilliant idea, but still… PVII is currently in its beta stage but somewhat like an old-school Adventure game. The story revolves around some scientists in the year 1996, that seek out an anomaly that is affecting the flow of time. Kind of like a blast to the past, but without all the graphical advancement that should be seen in the 1990s. Just plain-simple clicks and tags, and you are it! Compu-tainment Ranks Tops in the 21st Century

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

If you happen to belong to the 21st Century as a Gen Y youngster, then perhaps you might be able to relate to this, where unlike the older generation who might indulge in smaller delights like owning a car, they simply keep connected via their internet and social sites like Facebook and Myspace. The super highway of connectivity, rather.

The study into buyer attitudes by global automotive analyst company JD Power has global implications for car brands increasingly trying to snare a younger audience. The company’s Australian managing director, Brian Fine, believes the findings could change the way car makers deal with younger buyers.

"For car companies, younger buyers are their starting point," he said.

"If they don’t get them at the early stages then they are probably going to have a tougher sell later on."

Although it was a US study, Mr Fine said younger buyers have surprisingly similar views on car ownership globally. The survey found that the global economic crisis had made young people more aware of the costs involved with owning and fuelling a vehicle.

What else can we say about the youngsters today except that the money they have in their pocket is probably going to go to funding snacks and junk food whilst communicating via the inter-web. That is economies of scale if you ask us.

The Rabbids are Going home!

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

We really wanted more from the Rabbids sequels to Rayman, but seriously this gameplay seems out of this world. Coming to a DS and Wii near you, this game sees the Rabbids trying to reach the moon in an attempt to go home. Why the moon? Well, let us just say that the Rabbids made up their minds to go there as their new ‘conquered’ hometown… Great family fun!

TF2 Halloween Update is LIVE!

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Posted in www.gx.com.sg by: Jaradcel

The fine folks at Team Fortress 2 HQ have seen fit to be smug buggers in releasing a new Halloween-themed update.
And not just any update. One with hats. Nothing else has caused quite as much rage, QQ, and emo-ness. Not even the rumored 700-page rant on the delay of Left 4 Dead 2′s demo (Note: We couldn’t find it. We’re blind.)

A good move in the game however, was the application of this change to how limited-time only hats were given out. Long time players will remember the soldier’s medal as a special event, and it seems Valve is now finding a good way to get this new hat out to others who want it.
So go forth, trick or treat and beat the stuffing out of everyone.

LEEERROOYYYYYYYY~~~

If you’re a WoW gamer – or if you’re just really up-to-date with every meme on the Internet – you probably know about Leeroy Jenkins. The infamous and famously funny guy who decided to get his entire group killed in a dungeon by pulling more enemies than they could reasonably handle.

Well, guess what. People have begun making skits about that video put on the Internet.
People in real movies. Like Year One.
Well, ok, it’s already a comedy. But the fact that Jenkin’s, a clearly niche meme that only a very specific audience (Even if that audience is over 10million strong) understands made it to the big time is pretty newsworthy to us.
It helps it’s still funny as hell too.

And bonus! There was something like it in the Monsters vs Aliens DVD!

The demo is out now for those who’ve pre-ordered, and at first glance, we’ve been tempted to write it off as more of the exact same thing. Which is exactly what detractors have been saying ever since the title was announced.
But is it, really?
