Face to face with an idol

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

An American Idol that is. He may not have won first place last year, but David Archuletta certainly got our attention with his awesome songs and boyish looks. Well, he certainly mesmerized one of our designers :p

Check out our extensive interview with him in our May issue! Look how cute he is!

PS3 wins over this time, with Batman: Arkham Asylum

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Batman may be one of the coolest superhero of all time, but one cannot ignore the fact that the Joker is one of those villains that actually manages to steal the limelight. This we can see in the Dark Knight, presented with an astounding performance by the late Heath Ledger.

With that, good news for PS3 owners, cause the upcoming Batman game, Arkham Asylum will feature an exclusive playable Joker. The psychotic villain can be used in challenge maps from the game.

Sounds like a big one-up over for the PS3 over the Xbox. Arkham Asylum will feature intense action with the black caped crusader stuck in the asylum with the Joker intent on killing him and then unleashing hell on Gotham City.

We can only hope what exclusive features the Xbox may get. Robin perhaps? Yeah, that would help.

One billion Apps served

Monday, April 27th, 2009

With regards to the recent post about Apple hitting one billion apps downloads soon, the one billionth app has indeed been downloaded by the one and only Connor Mulcahey, age 13, of Weston, CT.

As a prize, Connor will be getting a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro.

It seems like the iPhone is here to stay. First revolutionizing mobile phones and then introducing the groundbreaking App Store.

Congratulations Connor :) Wish I could download some random thing one day and be rewarded for it myself :(

Baby shaking app gets canned

Monday, April 27th, 2009

As we all know, the App store has been doing really well, featuring a ton of applications(more than twenty thousand) and earning people buckets of money from cashing in on it.

But lo and behold, an app just got itself banned, from Apple itself. You know it’s gotta be big considering that Apple stepped in themselves.

The app which was pulled out was a sick game exploiting the accelerometer function of the iPhone, in which you shake the phone until the virtual baby… erm, dies. Yeah, as indicated by the red Xs. Whoever thinks infanticide, virtual or not is cool must be retarded.

It’s actually pretty cool. It includes a BPM counter, frequency, Analyser, Decibel Meter, Seismic Reader, Virtual Glow Stick(zomg!), DJ Check List and an Itinerary Manager.

I don’t really know what the heck all those are, but hey, being a DJ is always cool.
